Hotel Parentium


The conference will take place near Poreč, at the Hotel Parentium****. The multi-functional auditorium provides about 300 seats for the participants and can be reconfigured into up to three smaller rooms for the parallel and splinter sessions.
 
Two additional smaller rooms (up to 10 and 20 persons, respectively) and they will be used as a silent room for neurodiverse persons and for childcare if needed, as well as for smaller meetings.
 
Large hotel lobby with a bar will be used for coffee breaks and as a poster area. Conference hall, lobby and reception desk are on the same level and well connected mutually and with other facilities such as restaurant (see internal map below). More info about the conference amenities can be found in the booklet.
 
The venue is adapted to people with disabilities and for wheelchair access as all the facilities are on the same level.
 
Unfortunately, the venue does not provide childcare nor has any special facilities for children.
 
 

Accommodation

 
We were able to reserve a limited number of rooms at the conference venue in hotel Parentium at preferential rates. The preferential rates and the reserved rooms will be available until July 15th and can be booked and paid for through this webpage only. Rooms can be booked through the registration form when registering and the booking will be active until July 15th. Booking will be finally confirmed if the full accommodation cost is paid and processed before July 15th. Please allow enough time (at least 7 working days) to finalize the transfer if paying by bank transfer. Payment for the accommodation can be done from User corner following this link.
 
Bookings at the meeting venue at hotel Parentium as well as at hotel Blue (Plavi) are CLOSED. For further possible bookings depending on room availability, please contact the meeting organizer.

The following cancellation rules apply:
  • cancellation 5 days or less before the first night or no show: no refund
  • cancellation from 6 to 15 days before the first night: refund 25% of the total cost for all booked nights
  • cancellation from 16 to 30 days before the first night: refund 50% of the total cost for all booked nights
  • cancellation from 31 to 75 days before the first night: refund 75% of the total cost for all booked nights
  • cancellation 76 days or more before the first night: full refund 
 
Limited number of rooms is available and will be booked on the 'first come, first served' basis. We are not responsible for your accommodation if all the rooms are already booked at the time of your booking.

Available dates for booking at hotel Parentium are from September 24th (Sunday) to 29th (Friday) 2023. If an extra night after the conference closure from 29th to 30th September is needed, it can be booked only in hotel Blue (Plavi) during the registration, but keep on mind that limited number of rooms is available.

  • Double room with half board: €136 per day
  • Single room with half board: €102 per day

The hotel is adapted to people with disabilities and has wheelchair access to all common spaces as well as elevator access to rooms on upper floors. There are 11 rooms fully adapted for people with disabilities.
 
 

Accommodation support

 
Students, postdocs, early career scientists and participants from ITC countries can book a very limited number of rooms at nearby hotel Blue (Plavi) at preferential rates after they submit a request for travel & accommodation support. Hotel Blue (Plavi) is nearby the conference venue, just 4 minutes by foot to the hotel Parentium. For additional information on travel support, please visit the web section on 'Registration & travel support'. Accommodation at hotel Blue (Plavi) will be booked after the approval of the travel support and your confirmation by e-mail.
 
The booking will be finally confirmed and finished if the full payment is processed before July 15th and travel support approved. Please allow enough time (at least 7 working days) to finalize the transfer if paying by bank transfer. The same cancellation rules apply as for hotel Parentium (see above).
 
Hotel Blue (Plavi)***
  • Double room with half board: €43 per person per day 
  • Single room with half board: €66 per person per day

There are also other hotels and private accommodation in the vicinity, feel free to book a room in the hotel where the conference will be taking place, or use Booking.com, AirBnB, etc. 
 
IMPORTANT: Neither the Organizers nor any of the hotels in the area will contact the participants of the conference and offer an accommodation. If you receive any offer please decline and report to the organizers at the address below. 
 
 
 

Meals and restaurants


 
Lunch (without drinks) is included in the conference fee and will be served as buffet at the restaurant of the hotel Parentium.
If booking a room at hotel Parentium or Blue (Plavi), dinner will be served as an integral buffet at the restaurants of the respective hotels.
 
There are a few restaurants in the area around hotel, but we certainly recommend visiting some of the popular places in Poreč.
 
 
 

Local transport

 
The venue is about 50 minutes walk from the center of Poreč, along the coastal promenade, through the pine forests.
Various forms of public transport to the city centre are available:
  • local bus
  • tourist train
  • boat
 
Hotels Parentium and Blue are connected with other hotels and city centre by tourist train (route 2) that departs every half an hour (price: 4 euros per ride) from 9 am to around 11 pm. Route can be found here (station Zelena laguna - 5 minutes walk from hotels). Timetables are to be found here (look for route Zelena laguna -> Poreč and back).

Boat for Poreč city centre departs every 60 minutes from the nearby marina. Ask at the hotel Parentium reception desk for timetable.
 
 
Please be aware of the individuals that may try to scam you. These scams usually take the form of accommodation offers, etc. It is impossible for us to protect you completely from this practice, so pay attention to unsolicited emails and phone calls. We will not initiate communication with any of the attendees with regard to accommodation, travel arrangements and conference fees. The only location to make any sort of payment will be this web page. That includes registration fees, accommodation and additional activities.  (We will not organize travel for the participants).
